Air Transport Ass’n of American v. City and County of San Francisco (2001) 266 F.3d 1064 – Defended San Francisco’s groundbreaking equal benefits law, requiring City contractors to make health benefits available to domestic partners of employees

City of Goleta v. Superior Court (2006) 40 Cal.4^th 270 – On behalf of amicus curiae homeowners association, defended the rights of newly incorporated cities to self-determination in land use entitlement decisions.

Great Western Shows, Inc. v. County of Los Angeles (2002) 27 Cal.4^th 853 and California Rifle & Pistol Assoc. v. City of West Hollywood (1998) 66 Cal.App.4^th 1302 - Defended the rights of California public entities to regulate the sale and possession of firearms

Marlo v. United Parcel Service (2007) 254 Fed.Appx.568 – Overturned a trial court’s grant of summary judgment against a class of UPS employees who had been denied overtime compensation.

Vedanta Soc. of Southern California, et al. v. California Quartet (2000) 84 Cal.App.4th 517 – Represented environmental groups in overturning a county’s certification of an environmental impact report on the basis that the county board of supervisor’s tie vote did not fulfill the board’s duties under CEQA.

Wolfe v. City of Fremont (2006) 144 Cal.App.4^th 533 – Defended the City of Fremont against a lawsuit accusing the City of violating open meeting laws.
